This blog was created by Casey O’Neal, a wildlife biologist and aspiring educator. The focus of this blog is to introduce projects that schools can use in order to “go green”. These projects are all intended to be used by educators in schools as project based learning units, in order to teach and promote environmentalism and leadership to their students. With project based learning students can actively learn not only the content intended for the instructors course, but also from several other content areas. Most projects try to not only teach environmentalism, but also leadership, communication, and community involvement in order to prepare students for meaningful careers after completing their education. Projects on this blog will also try to connect science with art in order to bridge the gap between subjects, and inspire all students to become passionate and work hard towards their passions to achieve their goals. Hopefully this blog can inspire educators and students to introduce campus wide project based learning units that can make significant impact on individuals, communities, and the planet.
